It began as a simple message from one of our customers.
They told us about a shopper who had picked up one of our Recovery Stones. The words printed on it were short, but something in them clearly struck a chord. The shopper held it for a while, turning it over in their hand before taking it to the counter.
That’s when they opened up. They shared that their brother was in recovery, and that every day was a mix of challenges and victories. They said this stone would be something he could keep close, something to hold when he needed a reminder that he wasn’t alone.
Hearing this story reminded us why we make these stones in the first place.
Recovery is more common than many people realize. In the U.S., more than 20 million people are in recovery from substance use or mental health challenges. That’s one in ten adults. They are our neighbors, friends, family, and co-workers. Even if your business or your personal life isn’t directly connected to recovery, the people around you may be carrying their own story, or supporting someone who is.
Our Recovery Stones are created for moments like these. They are simple, meaningful keepsakes that can say what’s hard to put into words: I see you. I care. You’re not alone.
National Recovery Month (happening in September) is a time to celebrate these stories and the people behind them. It’s a reminder that support doesn’t have to be grand to be powerful. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment, a kind word, or even a small stone that can start a conversation that matters.
If you’d like to share that kind of support, you can check out our Recovery Stones here. Whether you keep one for yourself or give it to someone else, you never know how much it might mean.
